Goodbye TwoThousand&Great, hello TwoThousand&Fine

There is only one sleep to go til the fat man comes and just a handful after that til we can kiss 2008 goodbye. Some of us will be sad to see it go and some of us can't wait to see the back of it. Inevitably the end of the year comes hand-in-hand with nostalgia as we reflect on what was. As such, one of the main focus points in the past few days has been looking back at the best musical releases for the year.

There are a billion lists out there but for my two cents Swedish duo Air France produced the best album of '08 with No Way Down. Misleading as their moniker may be, their ethereal medlodies are the perfect soundtrack to summer and have been on high rotation at EC HQ. It's the best album of its style since the Avalanches dropped Since I Left You in about 1835 - and that's saying something.

Here is a clip of Collapsing At Your Doorstep, one of the standout tracks on the album. It's simple yet effective and reminds us that we all need to chill out every once in a while.

New stockists!!

Whoah December has been crazy. We've got a slew of new styles that have been flying out the door like hotcakes and we've even released our first women's pieces to keep the ladies satisfied. On top of all that we've managed to link up with some of the coolist boutiques this side of eternity. In case you forgot to tell Santa that all you want for Xmas is some new Eleventh Commandment threads, you can now go out to these fine stores to get your EC fix.

CODE ORANGE
Shop 3041, Westfield Miranda, Miranda, NSW / 103 Cronulla Street, Cronulla, NSW

Stocking labels of the calibre of Ksubi, Thousand Reasons, Illionaire, Material Boy and Nudie, Code Orange has a monopoly on style when it comes to the southern suburbs. For more info hit the sweet spot here.

WHO'S YOKO
178 King Street, Newcastle, NSW

Bringing sexy back to our Novocastrian friends, Who's Yoko is a new boutique/cafe bursting at the seems with cutting edge designs from Love Thy Neighbour, St Augustine Academy, Illionaire, Vanguard and Tuesday Night Band Practice. If you're in the area a visit is a must. To find out who Yoko really is click here.

ITRIP ISKIP
30 Lonsdale street, Braddon, ACT

The pollies like to think they run Canberra but truth be told the girls at Itrip Iskip are in charge. Their rad little store has way more panache than Parliament House and is full of goodies from American Apparel, Dr Denim, Pete Versus Toby and more.

But before you race out the door to one of the above locations, check out this funky little stop-motion graff by Canberra-based artist Georgina Edwards. Nice.
